Lookup tools
One atlas, every kind of business record
Business records in the US are scattered across 50 state registries, the SEC, and the IRS. Start with the record you need:
Business entity search
Find a company in any state’s official registry — LLCs, corporations, registered agents, filing status. State-by-state guides to each Secretary of State search, from Sunbiz to the California bizfile portal.
EIN lookup
Look up Employer Identification Numbers for SEC-registered companies (via EDGAR filings) and tax-exempt nonprofits (via IRS records) — plus how to find, verify or recover your own EIN.
NAICS code lookup
Find the right North American Industry Classification System code for a business — for tax forms, loan applications, government contracting and registration paperwork.
SIC code lookup
The older Standard Industrial Classification codes, still required by the SEC and some lenders and insurers — browse the code list and match SIC to NAICS.
DUNS number lookup
What a D-U-N-S number is, how to find a company’s, and how to get one free for your own business — for federal contracting and business credit.
Nonprofit search
Search tax-exempt organizations in IRS records: exempt status, EIN, and Form 990 filings — the public paper trail every US nonprofit leaves.
Straight answer
What an EIN lookup can — and can’t — find
There is no public IRS database for looking up a private company’s EIN by name — any site claiming otherwise is guessing or reselling scraped data. EINs are public only where the law makes them public: companies that file with the SEC (their EIN appears on EDGAR filings) and tax-exempt nonprofits (their EIN appears in IRS exempt-organization records and Form 990s). Our EIN lookup covers exactly those two sets — and shows you every legitimate way to find or recover your own EIN.
Who we are
An independent guide to official records
RegistryAtlas is an independent reference site, operated by DevRig LLC. We are not affiliated with the IRS, the SEC, or any state government, and we don’t sell your data or require an account. Registry facts on this site come from official public sources — state filing offices, SEC EDGAR, and IRS exempt-organization data — and every page links to the official registry so you can verify at the source. Some pages recommend commercial services (like LLC formation or registered-agent providers); those links may earn us a commission and are always labeled.
