Who we are

About RegistryAtlas

An independent atlas of US business records — every state business registry, plus EIN, NAICS/SIC and nonprofit lookups, all traced to official public sources.

At a glance

  • Official public sources only
  • Not a government agency
  • Free — no accounts or paywalls

US business records are public, but they are scattered across more than fifty separate government systems — each state's business registry, the SEC's EDGAR filings, the IRS's tax-exempt datasets — every one with its own search form, its own jargon and its own quirks. RegistryAtlas is the atlas that ties them together: one place to find the right official registry, understand what its records mean, and follow a link straight to the authoritative entry.

Coverage

What you can look up here

Four clusters of public business records, each traced to the government system that actually holds it:

State business entity search

LLCs, corporations and other registered entities in every state's Secretary of State (or equivalent) registry — names, status, filing details and where to confirm them.

EIN lookup

Employer Identification Numbers that are genuinely public — from SEC filings and IRS tax-exempt data — plus step-by-step help recovering your own EIN.

NAICS & SIC codes

The federal industry classification systems — what each code means, how to find the right one for a business, and how NAICS and SIC relate.

Nonprofit search

Tax-exempt organizations from IRS exempt-organization records and Form 990 filings — status, classification and where the source documents live.

Data standards

Where our facts come from

Every registry fact on this site — an entity name, a status, a filing date, an EIN, a NAICS code — is drawn from an official public source: the state Secretary of State business registries, the SEC's EDGAR system, and the IRS tax-exempt organization datasets. We never invent, infer or "fill in" a record: if a fact isn't in the source data, it isn't on the page.

Pages that carry registry data state when that data was last refreshed, and every record links back to the authoritative registry so you can confirm the current entry yourself. Government databases update as businesses file — always verify at the source before you rely on a record for a legal, financial or filing decision. The full source list is on Data sources & reuse.

Independence

Not a government agency

RegistryAtlas is a private, independent reference site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the IRS, the SEC, any state Secretary of State, or any other government agency. Filing paperwork, ordering certificates and correcting records all happen at the official registry — we show you which one and link you there, and none of it costs anything extra by starting here.

Funding

How the site pays for itself

Reading and searching RegistryAtlas is free and always will be. The site is supported by affiliate partnerships: some pages link to third-party services — LLC-formation companies, registered-agent providers, business-credit tools — and if you sign up through one of those links we may earn a referral fee, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never alter what a public record says, and affiliate links are never required to reach any official registry. The disclosure below appears wherever those links do.

The operator

Who runs RegistryAtlas

RegistryAtlas is built and operated by DevRig LLC, Wyoming, USA — itself a registered business entity, which is part of why we care that these records are easy to find and read. Editorial content on the site is written and reviewed by the RegistryAtlas team; registry data is never editorial and comes only from the official sources described above. Nothing on this site is legal, tax or financial advice.
